Annual General Meeting and Election
The Star City School Community Council will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on:

Time: 6:30 pm
Location: Star City School
Elections for parent and community representative positions on the SCC will take place at this meeting in accordance with The Education Act, 1995 and NESD Policy.
There are 3 elected positions open for nomination. Following the general election, the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Member at Large will be determined by the SCC. Each elected member serves a two-year term.
Nomination forms are available from the school office and must be submitted to the school office before or by the meeting date, Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
All parents and guardians of students attending Star City School and residents of the Star City attendance area are encouraged to attend and participate.
This will be an important year for the Star City School SCC.
Before the end of September, the newly elected Council will consider whether to recommend that the NESD Board close Star City School for the 2027–2028 school year.
Such a recommendation could allow the Board to consider closure without proceeding through the full school review process. The Board has committed to a school review beginning in September 2026 and the final school closure decision remains with the NESD Board of Education.
